In November, it became known that the astronauts on the International Space Station would begin to grow flowers, more specifically Zinnia (plants of the sunflower tribe within the daisy family).
The project to grow flowers first went bad, when the automatic irrigation system made the plants too wet and mold started growing. But instead of throwing the flowers, the American astronaut Scott Kelly decided that he would take over responsibility and channeling his inner Mark Watney – he would give them life again.
Our plants aren’t looking too good. Would be a problem on Mars. I’m going to have to channel my inner Mark Watney. pic.twitter.com/m30bwCKA3w
