The Chinese spacecraft Chang’e 5 T1 recently took this unique photo of the dark side of the moon with our own little pale dot, Earth, seen in the background.

The picture was taken in late October by the Chinese spacecraft Chang 5T1 during its eight-day trip to the moon and back.

The probe came relatively close to the Moon without entering orbit. It was the fourth in a series of test flights by the Chinese space agency. With a goal to land on the moon in 2017 and retrieve samples back to Earth, and later a manned mission to the Moon around 2025–2030.
