Elon Musk shared his technical thoughts back in 2013 on how a hyperloop could work and encouraged others to give it a go since he was already running two companies. A handful of companies formed to make it happen, one of those were Hyperloop One and another Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT).

The company Hyperloop One will hold its first demonstration of a full-scale prototype of the Hyperloop electromagnetic propulsion pod transportation system in 2017. HTT will build a 3,000 square meter facility (roughly 38,000 sq ft) in the French city of Toulouse.
